When life gives you sniffles…

Quick Tips · January 27, 2015

Kottamalli
I’m someone whose highly susceptible to soe throats, coughs, flu and all things E.N.T related! I’m bound to get attacked by the flu bug 2-3 times a year and there were times it escalated to be an ear infection when I didn’t treat it soon enough. Once I nearly spent $500 for treatment while still a student and the next time the same symptoms appeared I hopped on to a plane and went back home. It was actually much cheaper!

Anyway, it kind of sucks to get sick when you’re living away from home and all that love and pampering. So here’s a very quick and easy remedy which is mom approved!

I’m no biology student so I can’t tell you about the scientific reasoning behind drinking water extracted from boiling coriander seeds to battle the flu. But it’s a famous Sri Lankan remedy and it works! A quick Google search also proved that coriander seeds are apparently good for stomach pains etc as well.

All you have to do is, simply boil some coriander seeds (I got mine from giant) in hot water for about 20 mins (longer if you could), strain and mix in some sugar and you’ve got yourself a nice hot aromatic drink. You could have this twice a day for about 2 days.
