I’m a thirty-something year old girl with Sri Lankan roots residing in Singapore. Cooking, food styling and food photography has and will always be my creative outlet.
Coming from a family where everyone very well appreciates food, my love for food goes deep. However, my kitchen adventures unravelled itself mostly after I started studying overseas. As a student who was deprived of home cooked Sri Lankan food, I started to find my way around the kitchen – tip toeing at first, galloping away now.
I strongly believe that food does not merely fill up my tummy alone, but rather my soul too. It’s amazing how often I get transported back to my childhood days while cooking and tasting certain dishes and how food is almost always tied up with certain memories of people, places and emotions too.
Following recipes have never been my cup of tea. I cook mostly from my memory – recalling the way my mom does it. You see, that’s one thing I love about cooking, in a world where everything is rigid and structured, cooking gives me the freedom to be whimsical.
I hope I’ll be able to inspire you to head to the kitchen to whip up something that you could call yours!
If you like to read my foodpeditions, leave your email and I’ll send you updates when ever I post.
